Walky have long been running Club Testing Days at our property "Walky
Park" near Truro, North East of Adelaide. These events are a safe and
controlled environment used for developing driving skills, performing CAMS OLT (Observed
License Testing) and testing car modifications in preparation for major rally events.
With the advent of tighter licencing requirements for novice rally drivers, the
Trophy Day Series has been awarded OLT status by CAMS. This allows novice Rally
Drivers to learn and demonstrate their driving skills before officials in order
to earn the right to obtain a CAMS National Rally Licence. A CAMS National Rally
Licence is required to progress to Special Stage Rally events.
Each event is a CAMS sanctioned Club Rallysprint with St John First Aid in attendance
to handle any mishaps. Each run over each track is timed and awards are made at
the end of season for class and outright winners.
Each Trophy Day is hosted by a senior Walky club member who is responsible for course
selection. Depending on the host, the weather and the condition of the various tracks,
participants can be challenged by any number of track variations and combinations,
ensuring variety for all participants.
